A bit disappointed. These are very difficult to secure the cap. It took us much time to put cap on once we cleaned them. There’s an o ring. Seems we’re always worried that we’ll ruin our serving with a cap that falls off into our food.I received these stunning shakers this week. They were very securely packed and arrived within a week of my order. I was a bit apprehensive when I bought them after reading the feedback from others. But I couldn't find another crystal set that I like as much so thought I would just take a chance and see. I am very pleased to say I am thrilled with my purchase. Although as mentioned by a few others, the O ring of one of the shakers had slipped out when I got it. However, when I pushed it into place it stayed and the tops fit well into place and stayed in place. They are elegant just like all the other Waterford items and match my other glassware. They aren't too quaint either, just perfect. Love it.Arrived on time, great packaging.Great salt & pepper shakers! We only use freshly ground pepper in our house, so both of these shakers are used for salt. Very handy for a table with guests (or two tables!).I love Waterford crystal anyway, but I was very pleased with these shakers. They are a good size, not huge, not tiny -- and the stainless tops are SO much better than the plastic tops that so many shakers have. Plus there is an o-ring inside the top that keeps the salt where it belongs. Great design.What can I say... it is Waterford!I did have to give it only 4 stars because the rubber O-rings in the caps didn't provide for the fit I expected so I pulled some slightly larger diameter ones from my O-ring set in order to tighten up the caps. This is my second set of Waterford S&P shakers and the first set didn't have this problem (loose fitting caps) so I view it as a fluke that was very simple to resolve.The caps did not fit? The outer diameter of the shakers was too small and the lids kept falling off! I had visions of my scrambled eggs being inundated in a landslide of salt or pepper! I tried a larger diameter o-ring, but that was a no-go too! Finally, I just resorted to some spell-o tape wrapped around the neck. That worked. My only consolation is that these crystal shakers are, after all, hand made.salt does not dispense real well.I loved them and used them already at a dinner party along with other Lismore items I have.
